One of my first road trips of my Halifax summer was to famous Peggy's Cove.
Very near Halifax, on the N.E. side St.Margaret's Bay, it's an easy day trip. My initial road trips with my rental car, a jammy little fuel efficient Yaris, were many jaunts like this. There are myriad scenic delights within easy reach of this terrific city.

The town of Peggy's Cove is in the distance, taken from the Swiss Air 111 Memorial Site. There is some thought that glaciers left the huge boulders scattered over the landsape.
Spot the lighthouse on the point, above.
Below is the lighthouse the day after Hurricane Noel.
Photo by Dennis Richards of nearby Hackett's Cove, Nova Scotia. Spectacular huh!? Dennis is a terrific photographer and musician.

Deborah-
Very beautiful images and informative post, thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!
I really do need a vacation. Beautiful photos, Deborah, thank you.
Thanks for your comments and encouragement Bryant, on my "Peggys Cove Lighthouse" post ! I think I have a pretty good eye, but lack photo technique and equipment skills!
Hey Chris! I wish a marvelous vacation for you!!! Thanks for reading - I appreciate your comments, as you follow my Nova Scotia adventures.
Hey - Great post ! I was there to see those waves (before they closed the rds) during the hrs before Hurricane Huan. Now I don't travel anywhere without my camera!
Hi Paul! How awesome Paul that you were there firsthand. Out west here we don't usually get quite that degree of storm at hurricane level, but I have gone down to WA state for storm watching - just something about the majestic power of it.
Nova Scotia is such a beautiful part of Canada - I always look forward to visiting there when possible. Nice pictures! Peggy's Cove is very photogenic as well.
Deborah, Great pictures. I love lighthouses. Thanks for sharing theses.
Oh wow. That lighthouse photo with the waves crashing all around is spectacular! And I love the first photo of all the big rocks as well.
Hey Georgina - you are fortunate to go to the Maritimes so frequently! Nova Scotia is marvelous!! Peggy's as well as practically everywhere there is photo worthy.
Thanks for stopping in Bob - Glad you enjoyed the shots of the Peggy's Cove Lighthouse. I think it is spectacular work myself.
Hello Lisa great to hear from you! The ocean was a main reason for my visit to Nova Scotia and the Maritimes.
Thanks for the wonderful feature!
